Our Goals
FIPEC is a Non-for-Profit Foundation that:
- Promotes research and clinical assistance in the area of parasitic diseases and other pediatric diseases
- Promotes teaching of health professionals via courses, seminars, etc
- Funds scientific research by supporting young researchers with scholarships and grants
- Promotes the use of new methods for the diagnosis of prevalent diseases
- Studies infectious agents that produce human disease, expanding research into new areas of human health
Activities
What We Do?
- Teaching: We organize, together with well-known professionals, in-person and virtual courses on prevalent pediatric health problems
- Research: We carry out research projects focused mainly on neglected and prevalent diseases (e.g. Chagas disease, toxocariasis, hydatid disease, syphilis, diarrhea, influenza, respiratory diseases and vaccines).
- We actively support the research endeavours of the Parasitology and Chagas Service of the Buenos Aires Children’s Hospital “Dr Ricardo Gutierrez”, Argentina collaborating center with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). How Do We Do What We Do?
We receive support and financing from many institutions that trust our technical and teaching skills, and those of the professionals that participate in our projects. We have funding agreements with international organizations such as DNDi (drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative), University of Bucaramanga, Colombia., Mc Gill University, Canada, Fundación Probitas, Spain.
